I love Paris but now that I'm back in the Rhone Alpes, I feel that I have returned to France... I know it sounds crazy but it's the truth..
Paris with 30 something million visitors a year and being the number one city in France for immigration, It felt more like living in a tourist attraction than a proper French city.
So if you come to France, visit Paris, but then rent a car and drive outside of Paris into the French country side.. And trust me, you'll see right away that Paris isn't France. Paris is Paris. Just like New York City doesn't represent the US.
